In the PTE listening test, the candidates encounter with the fill in the
blanks. In this part or exercise, the candidates are evaluated consistently in
three different areas i.e. Reading, Writing and Listening.
Now, the candidates have to listen
to an audio recording of one minute and then they have to fill in the blank
spaces with the appropriate words that they hear in the audio recording. We
understand the majority of PTE aspirants
are scared of this part in the listening test, but there are certain things you
must keep in mind before you attempt this part of the listening test.
1. There is no negative marking in
this section of the PTE listening test.
2. There is no time limitation.
3. In this part of the listening
test, there are majorly 2 to 3 exercises which we have to attempt.
4. Lastly, you have to listen
carefully to the audio recording, which is easy to understand.
The fill in the blanks
section of the listening test is the last part of it and which is also known as
“Write from dictation.” This entre test requires skills and proficiency in
listening and writing. Now, here are some tips that you can follow to improve
your fill in the blank strategy well in advance.
1 – Plan it before
In this particular test of the
listening section, there are almost two to three exercises and it is suggested
that do not exceed 2 minutes per exercise. Although there is no time limit, still it is recommended that don’t take too much time on one exercise. To
understand the main topic of the text, just go through deeply into the visuals,
which will help you to fill in the blanks. On timely completion of the
exercise, you can check the grammar as well as the tenses of the words that you
have put in the blank.
2 – Write Faster
To fill in the blanks in the PTE
listening test, it is advised that use note-board so that you don’t miss any
answer to the question. Moreover, if you think your writing speed is fast, then
it’s definitely a great option to score higher in your fill in the blanks
section. Sometimes, it is difficult for the candidates to transcript the words
may be due to pronunciation or fluency. However, if you practice well for the
PTE listening section, then you will not encounter such issues. Type or write
fast so that you don’t leave any empty box in your fill the blanks section.
